Fr. Robert Vitillo is a Roman Catholic priest of the Diocese of Paterson, New Jersey and holds a Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University where he also pursued doctoral studies in the same field. Since 1987, he has been engaged in education of church leaders and development of church-based programs in response to the pandemic of HIV/AIDS around he world. In 1997, he was appointed Executive Director of the Catholic Campaign for Human Development at the United States Catholic Conference. He serves as President of the Board of Directors of National Catholic AIDS Network, Treasurer of the Board of Directors of AIDS National Interfaith Network, Chair of Caritas Internationalis Task Force on the Family and Co-Chair of Caritas Internationalis Task Force on HIV/AIDS.

Rev. Deborah C. Warren is the founding Executive Director of the Regional AIDS Interfaith Network (RAIN) in Charlotte, North Carolina. RAIN is a congregation-based ministry which provides HIV/AIDS prevention education to faith communities and develops volunteer care-teams who provide compassionate care to persons living with AIDS. RAIN has trained over 1300 volunteers from 15 denominations and faith traditions in 8 counties of North Carolina. In 1996, Rev. Warren received the Jim Oehler Community Service Award for AIDS. Rev. Warren was ordained in 1982 at the First Baptist Church in Pendleton, South Carolina. She is a graduate of Union University (B.A.), Jackson, Tennessee; the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.R.E.) in Louisville, Kentucky and has received clinical pastoral training at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte. She has served as Associate Minister at the First Baptist Church in Pendleton, South Carolina and the Oakland Baptist Church in Rock Hill, South Carolina.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rev. Howard B. Warren, Jr.

Rev. Warren is a Presbyterian clergyperson currently serving on the leadership team of The Presbyterian AIDS Network and the Board of AIDS National Interfaith Network. He received a B.A. in English from Missouri Valley College; attended McCormick Theological Seminary and received an M.Div. from Union Theological Seminary in New York, and received a Master's Degree in Social Work from Hunter College in New York. Rev. Warren's ministry emphasis has been on Education/ Pastoral Care in a variety of congregations. His pastoral care visits (40 to 50 each week) take him into homes, hospitals, prisons, extended care facilities and hospices. He also provides 10-12 educational activities each month. Rev. Warren says "I am open with my denomination about both my HIV-status and my gay sexual orientation and continue to challenge the religious and secular world to be inclusive to all God creates."

Dr. Lester Wright is Associate Commissioner and Chief Medical Officer for the New York State Department of Correctional Services. He has been involved in HIV issues as a member of the AIDS Committee of the Seventh Day Adventist church. He is certified by the American Board of Preventive Medicine and is a Distinguished Practitioner of the National Academies of Practice. He has served as County and State Health Officer and State Health Director (Commissioner), Chair of the Department of Health Administration of the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University, and has spent seven years involved in international health in various parts of Africa and continues to consult in Africa on HIV prevention and Child Survival; and was Chair of the Department of Health Administration of the School of Public Health at Loma Linda University.
